Why title tags and meta descriptions matter for hotels

When someone searches for a hotel in your city, Google shows your page title as the blue link and usually your meta description as the grey text below it. These two lines decide whether a traveller clicks your website or the OTA listing next to it. Many small hotel websites in India still use the same title on every page, or just the hotel name, which wastes the chance to appear for searches such as "hotel near railway station" or "family resort in Coorg". This free hotel SEO meta generator writes three title tags and three meta descriptions for each page type, with a character count so you stay within the space Google usually shows.

Length and format rules

  • Title tag: roughly 50–60 characters. Longer titles get cut off with "…" in search results.
  • Meta description: about 120–155 characters. Write it like a short ad: what the page offers plus a reason to click.
  • H1: one main heading per page, close in meaning to the title but written for the reader.
  • URL slug: short, lowercase, words separated by hyphens. Keep the home page on the root address.

How to use the results

  1. Pick the page type and enter the main keyword you want that page to rank for. Use a phrase a guest would actually type.
  2. Choose one title and one description, edit them so every word is true for your property, and paste them into your SEO plugin (Yoast, Rank Math) or website builder.
  3. Repeat for every important page: home, rooms, offers, restaurant, location, events and contact. Each page should target a different keyword.
  4. Check Google Search Console after a few weeks to see which searches bring clicks, and refine.

Good meta tags bring the click; the page content and your listing quality do the rest. Write a strong property description with the hotel description generator, and check how your OTA pages compare with the OTA listing score checker. Every direct booking you win from search also saves commission, which you can estimate with the direct vs OTA savings calculator.

The tool only builds text from templates; it does not guarantee rankings. Search results depend on your content, reviews, site speed and many other factors.

Frequently asked questions

How long should a hotel title tag be?

Keep it to about 50 to 60 characters so it is not cut off in Google results. Put the main keyword and your hotel name in it, and use a different title on every page.

Does Google always show my meta description?

No. Google sometimes writes its own snippet from your page text. A clear, specific description of 120 to 155 characters is shown more often and improves clicks.

Should I put the city name in every title?

Use it where it matches what people search, such as the home, rooms and location pages. Do not repeat the same keyword on every page; give each page its own focus.
