Plan a month of rates in one view
Many small hotels and homestays in India still change rates one date at a time, from memory, when someone remembers. That leads to Saturdays sold at the weekday price, festival dates priced too late and weekdays held at a rate the market will not pay. A pricing calendar sets the pattern for the next 30 days in advance, so the team only has to adjust for what changes.
How the rates are worked out
- Base rate: your normal rate for an ordinary day.
- Weekend days: choose which days are your weekend. City business hotels may be busy Monday to Thursday instead, while leisure and hill-station properties are busy on Friday and Saturday. Tick what matches your own demand.
- Low-demand days: a small discount on days that are usually quiet.
- Events: enter dates such as festivals, long weekends, weddings or concerts with an uplift. An event day uses the higher of its weekday rate and the event rate.
- Floor rate: no day is ever priced below it, however many discounts apply.
Event day = max(Day rate, Base × (1 + Event uplift %)), never below the floor
Rates are rounded to the nearest ₹50 and colour coded, and the calendar can be printed or saved as a Word file for the front office.
Keeping the calendar useful
A calendar is a starting plan, not a fixed price list. Review it every week against pickup and competitor rates, and move individual dates up when they fill faster than usual. For a structured way to adjust each date for occupancy and lead time, use the dynamic pricing calculator, and for season-long rate bands use the seasonal pricing calculator.
Keep the same rates on every channel to maintain parity, and remember the GST threshold: a weekend or event rate above ₹7,500 per night moves the room from 5% to 18% GST, which raises the price the guest sees by much more than your uplift alone.

Frequently asked questions
How much higher should weekend rates be?
It depends on your market. Leisure hotels and homestays near cities often charge 15 to 30% more on Friday and Saturday, while business hotels may be busier on weekdays. Use your own occupancy by day of week to decide.
Why set a floor rate?
A floor stops stacked discounts from pushing a rate below the level where a booking is still profitable after commission and the cost of servicing the room.
Can I print the pricing calendar?
Yes. Use Print / PDF or Download Word in the output box. The colour key shows which days are weekend, event, low-demand or held at the floor.
