The Place ID is Google's unique code for your property on Maps. With it, guests reach the star rating screen in one tap instead of searching for your hotel, opening the listing and finding the review button. Fewer steps means more guests actually finish the review.
How to find your Place ID
- Search for "Place ID Finder" and open Google's developer page of that name.
- Type your hotel name in the search box on the map and choose the right result. Check the address carefully if there are similar names nearby.
- Copy the Place ID shown in the result box. Business Place IDs usually start with
ChIJand are 27 or more characters long. - Paste it above. The tool builds the link, a QR code and ready messages.
If you manage the Google Business Profile, you can also copy the short review link from the profile's "Ask for reviews" option and paste that instead. A normal Maps share link also works, but it only opens your listing, so the tool warns you about it.
Asking for reviews the right way
- Timing: ask at check-out, when the guest is relaxed, or send the WhatsApp message a few hours after departure.
- Everyone, equally: Google's policies do not allow offering discounts or gifts for reviews, or asking only guests you think are happy.
- Make it personal: add the guest's first name. A human message gets more responses than a generic broadcast.
- Reply to every review: thank positive reviewers and respond calmly to complaints. The review reply generator helps you write replies quickly.
