How to use the OTA Payout Calculator (India)

This OTA Payout Calculator (India) runs fully in your browser on mobile or desktop – no sign-up and nothing is uploaded. Free OTA payout calculator for Indian hotels. See your net payout after commission, 18% GST on commission, 0.5% GST TCS and 0.1% TDS u/s 194-O.

Why the OTA payout is lower than the booking amount

When a guest pays ₹11,200 on an online travel agency, your bank does not receive ₹11,200. The OTA keeps its commission, charges 18% GST on that commission, and is required by law to deduct two taxes before paying you: GST TCS and income-tax TDS. Some OTAs also deduct a payment gateway or collection fee on prepaid bookings. This free calculator shows each deduction line by line so you can match it with your OTA statement.

Net payout = Booking amount − Commission − 18% GST on commission − 0.5% TCS − 0.1% TDS − Gateway fee

The deductions explained

  • Commission — usually 15% to 25% in India, charged on the room value before GST. Check your contract.
  • GST on commission — 18%, charged by the OTA on its service. Hotels in the 18% room slab can normally claim this as input tax credit; hotels in the 5% slab (no ITC) cannot.
  • GST TCS — tax collected at source under section 52 of the CGST Act, 0.5% of the net taxable value from 10 July 2024 (earlier 1%). It appears in your GST portal and can be used to pay GST.
  • TDS under section 194-O — 0.1% from 1 October 2024 (earlier 1%). It shows in Form 26AS and is adjusted in your income-tax return.

Worked example

A guest pays ₹11,200 for a room in the 5% slab. Room value before GST is ₹10,666.67 and GST is ₹533.33. Commission at 18% is ₹1,920.00, GST on it ₹345.60, TCS ₹53.33 and TDS ₹10.67. The net payout is ₹8,870.40. You still owe ₹533.33 GST to the government, but you get credit for the TCS and TDS, so your real room income is ₹8,401.07.
