For Google Drive: upload the PDF, Share > General access: Anyone with the link > Copy link.

How to make a menu QR code

  1. Put your menu online. The simplest options are a PDF on your website, a page on your website, or a PDF in Google Drive shared as Anyone with the link.
  2. Copy the link and paste it above.
  3. Add the restaurant name and, if you like, a table number.
  4. Download the PNG for your designer, or print the ready card and place it in a table tent or acrylic stand.

Tips for a menu guests actually read

  • Make it mobile-friendly. A single-column menu with large text works better on phones than a scanned A3 card.
  • Keep the file small (ideally under 2 MB) so it opens quickly on mobile data.
  • Show prices clearly and state whether GST is extra. Restaurant service in most hotels is charged GST at 5% — confirm your rate with your CA.
  • Mark veg and non-veg items and mention common allergens.
  • Keep the same link. If you update the menu, replace the file at the same address (on Google Drive use Manage versions) so the printed QR keeps working.

Where to use menu QR codes in a hotel

Use one on every restaurant table, in guest rooms for in-room dining, at the poolside and in banquet areas. A table number on the card helps staff know where an order or request came from. Keep a few printed menus for guests who prefer paper or whose phone cannot scan.

Price your menu right

A QR menu makes it easy to update prices often. Before you change them, work out the right selling price for each dish with our food cost and menu price calculator, and give in-house guests a Wi-Fi card from the Wi-Fi QR code generator so the menu loads fast.

Frequently asked questions

Can I use a Google Drive link for my menu QR code?

Yes. Upload the menu PDF to Google Drive, set General access to Anyone with the link, copy the link and paste it into the generator.

Do I need a new QR code when the menu changes?

Not if the link stays the same. Replace the file at the same address, or use Manage versions in Google Drive, and the printed code keeps working.

Is this menu QR code generator free?

Yes. It is free, has no sign-up, and the code is created in your browser with no expiry.
